Myrriah Tomar serves as Director of Innovation & Commercialization within the Division
of Research and Innovation at the University of North Texas and joined in October
2025. She leads UNT’s technology transfer and research commercialization efforts,
overseeing the evaluation, protection, marketing, and licensing of university innovations.
Working closely with faculty, students, and industry partners, she helps move research
discoveries into real-world applications and commercial opportunities.
Myrriah supports UNT’s research growth and innovation goals through intellectual property
management, commercialization strategy, and partnership development. Prior to joining
UNT, she served as Executive Director of Innovation & Commercialization at the New
Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and the Director of Science and Technology
for the New Mexico Economic Development Department.
She holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical
Campus and a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of New Mexico.
